Well mastered.

I think you've got a very got melody here, and the use of instruments are also wise. There're sad moments, happy moments, thrilling moments....combined within one. Great job on this. Love the 1.03 part. :)

Good.

I am quite moved by guitar here, since it's really progressive, and the bell-like sound also adds in a clearer picture of a dreamy day. I wish you could give some fixing on snare though. It sounds a little sharp, compared to soothing melody.

Still, it's a great listen. :) Keep it up.

Tilkanuts responds:

I'm glad you liked it.

Yeah, I tried experimenting a little with that snare, and I thought that the snare I chose sounded pretty good, although i can see why someone wouldn't like it how it is.

Hmmm.....

This reminds me a lot of the old times. :D Midi sounds like these can be so expressive when played in well written score. There's nothing much I could advise you for this track, but it would be nice if you can make a loop from this song if you cut the long note at the end. :)

Simply enjoyable.

It sounds quite simple with soothing melodies. It flows nicely from the beginning till last part of the song though. The only flaw I feel is just the heavy percussion near the end. If you can master it just a little bit more, this would be even better.

Interesting remix.

I have to say that you've done so well in mastering this track though. It's loud and clear. I have waited till the last 1/4 part like you said, and it's quite enjoyable with a great beat there. :D Too sad, it's a bit short, but it would sound loopable with a little touch in the end though.

Very intense.

The song just fits in perfectly with the dialogues you provide. Though I've never played Cave Story before, I could imagine how epic it would be to have such an exciting track like this. :)

rtnario responds:

Well, Cave Story is actually 8-bit-ey so when I remixed the track it was originally from something in that genre. Although it was still epic, I just wanted to, let's say, use a different instrument set :)

You should play Cave Story when you're not composing something epic, mmk? XD Thanks for another review!

Flowing smoothly yet loudly.

You've got a good melody and chord progression. It conveys your song message very well. The only major flaw for this track is its volume which causes severe treble. If you fix this problem, you get at least +2 points from me. :)

Quite good.

You use the instruments quite well here. The melody is a little repetitive but the blending of melodies from other instruments such as brass give the song some colors. I love the ending though.

Thanks a bunch for your review! The feedback is gold for me!

Nice dynamic.

This is a great short background music for films indeed. The melody is quite subtle and doesn't stand out too much, and its dynamic is quite decent. Maybe if you could add some string instruments such as violin and a little bit of choir, you can make this an epic song. :)

Quite good. :D

The piano is simply clear and lucid, and the melody flows quite smoothly throughout the song too. :D Violin works well in emphasizing the melodies. Keep it up. I think this would work very well for games/films.

What soundfont do you use for the piano? It sounds really appealing.

rtnario responds:

Thanks for the *return* review =)

To be honest, I think I could've made the violin sound better, but then again this was back then when I was trying my hand at the classical genre. I say that referring to the past, yet I'm still trying as of now. XD

And I thought the piano would be all too familiar for you...it's Edirol's ^^ In fact, I used Edirol alone for instruments with some tweaked EQ and stereo enhancements here and there.

Thanks again for reviewing; I'm still testing out what you told me in your reply to my review. I can't wait to make a song out of everything I've learned ;)
