Great interlude before it breaks out, epic-ly.

First off, what plugin/vst do you use? The percussion gives me a chill throughout. It's dark, strong, and powerful that I could imagine so many visuals to go along with it.

The song builds up from silence towards the upbeat end where you kind of leave some room to put other pieces in. Perfect for film-making indeed. Nice job.

Hellwreckage responds:

Percussion is a mix between Native Instruments Action Strikes, Damage and Evolve Mutations. Most of my plugs comes from Native Instruments and 8DIO.

And thank you for the kind words!

Nice melody....It feels soothing and relaxing to listen to. This would fit nicely with a short film. The silence and softness in the first half does build up to make the second half more impactful.

Sometimes I wish I could complete short tracks like this out of humming in my head more often. :) Good job. I voted 5 for you.

FinnMK responds:

Thanks very much Xyirx! It's a very much just a short 'idea' piece. I tried a few ways of adding on more content to it but it ended up just working out as its own little thing.

Well played, I mean the piano. Extremely melodic and touching, especially alongside with soft strings in the back. I could imagine a scene of a falling rain in the city at night. A lonely girl touches her bedroom window from the second floor and glances down below to see a car accident (sort of weird to get this imagery). I could see slow-moving pictures of medics carrying injured people onto stretchers and sirens roars in the streets.

crazyguylink responds:

That's quite the scenery. When I made this, I pictured a storm in a city, however no one was around, the streets deserted and not a person in sight. Myself walking slowly in the downpour, trying to find someone, but finding nobody anywhere. I admit, I was in a bit of a rut... It was kind of depressing. Glad you like the song though :)

Honestly, I feel kind of weird listening to through the whole piece. It's possibly from sharper sounds for everything, especially percussions. You could work on mastering to make your piece sound more wet and softer. The beat is great, and melody sounds promising as well. I recommend adding some groovy bassline throughout to make the song even more interesting. :)

GershBeats responds:

Thanks for the review! Ahhhh I like the sharpness ahaha personally I think the sharpness characterizes it. I appreciate the bassline suggestion, I know the current bassline is quite simple (intentionally, but still...) and I'll certainly continue to experiment with it a fair bit.

I take your compliments to heart broski! And the criticism is much appreciated, thanks for spending the time to listen in.

Listening to this somehow reminds me of playing old school platform games eg. Rockman blended with some beach songs. (sorry if that sOunds weird to you) has quite a beat that keeps you moving. Nice job. :D

Rinileki14 responds:

No, it doesn't sound weird. lol. Thanks.

That wasn't bad at all. It was great and fun to listen to. I could imagine myself watching an F-1 racing with crazy camera angles because the song ambiance really pumps me. Instrumental choice and percussion rhythm are also decent. Overall, I enjoy this piece. I just hope it could be a little longer.

Man, this sounds trippy to me. :D I haven't played the game before, so I checked some youtube videos to listen the original. You did a good job on giving it such an upbeat, exciting feeling. One thing I want to point out is that the transitions between the heavy and light parts could be smoother. Some parts are quite sudden.

Blen responds:

Cool. Thanks for the feedback man.

I really love how the tunes go. It's very chilling and would totally brighten up one's day by just listening some bars of this piece. The melody might sound somewhat tangled up at some points but the overall impression never ceases to amaze me. :)

MrX89 responds:

Thanks :) The piece is not mine, so you can blame Chick Corea for composing such a complicated tunes :P

Enjoyable.

I love the instrument choice you use here. Really makes this piece charming and full of surprises. :) Nice job on this.

Thanks!

Almost captivated then almost captivated.

The beginning gives me a chill. It was fantastic start with occasional pauses and stresses. However, as the song progresses, I kind of lose the tension of the melody. It becomes more and more predictable with drum loop and constant tabular bell. I'm not saying that using them is bad though, it just sounds quite overused in classical. :)

Nice breakdown in the middle part of the song. Give out a decent room for rest, then BAM! comes in with epic piano.

Towards the end of the song is my favorite part of the whole piece. It has more diversity and imagery than the first part. I feel more compelled to imagine clearer story. Personally, I'd recommend you to make the ending more dramatic by adding strong percussion in constant downbeat, like timpani or bass drum along with cymbal. That'd certainly make the ending so epic to me.
