Lalala....Laaa

The way you use piano is quite nice, especially when blended with bells (which could be a little softer). Don't worry with the rhythm though. When I compose an emotional song, I sometimes work everything off-tempo and focus only on the mood of the whole piece.

Well done. :)

FaeryTaleAdventurer responds:

Thanks for reviewing. I really wanted to fix these things, but I guess it works its way somehow. I hope to be able to fix it or something in the future. This is another work from my "n00b 2009" series (lol).

Nice...and peaceful first minute

I see that you've put a lot of effort into this. :) I love the vocal also. Her voice has a very calming effect.

The things I want to recommend you to improve the work are the following:

- Percussions, especially, the ride, sounds explicitly daunted...and sharp. It doesn't blend well with either vocals and other instruments. In fact, it prevents me to listen to the song peacefully. Adjusting EQ will help a lot. :)

- The vocals. Her voice when sung together is sometimes off-pitched and confuse one another's melody, to be honest. Could be improved a lot more. :)

- Strings and pad played in the background is somehow competing with the vocals....In short, it's loud and too much reverbed.

I like this song a lot in the beginning because it's simple and clear, but as you try to bring a lot of reverbs and instruments to compete themselves on who to lead the song forward, it sounds too complicated and dizzy to listen to. Pick one thing and lead your song with that. This song would be so beautiful.

I'm sorry if I give a harsh comment though.

ProjectTrinity responds:

Thank you very much for your input! Creating a song for vocals from scratch is certainly a weakpoint of mine and currently working hard to get better for the singer's sake, since she's nice enough to hang out with me and my compositions. lol

Soothing.

The synths you use has a very calming effect, especially when it's in appegio. The song itself is generally quite smooth despite certain loud parts kicking in. I think the song could've used a little more percussion in the background (softly, of course) though.

I could've suggested you to use a little more instruments because the whole song sounds plain due to limited timbre....but that's just a definition of your song--gray, right? :)

joethesouleater responds:

yeah i didn't want much deviation from the sounds but more with the notes. the first version i put of this had a kick in the back and was much softer throughout the song, thanks for your input i appreciate it.

Hmmm!

This is a very decent work, I'd say. Admirable timpani amd brass instruments make the song very progressive and powerful. :)

CreamingStar responds:

Thanks for the review! I appreciate the comment!

Never expect this coming.

Remind me of old good memories in front of my PSX. You did the remastering quite well. :)

sschafi1 responds:

Thank you! I'm still very much an amateur at mixing, so I do what I can ^_^

I'm melting.

Amazing with all the details and remix style you've put in. I wish that the ending is slowed down a little bit to emphasize the epic-ness. I love this track so much and just downloaded it.

DJ-Babokon responds:

Wow thanks

I feel dizzy.

I really like your choices for instruments; however, sidechaining (if I'm not mistaken) is sort of too much for me when it's used almost the entire time in the beginning. This would fit well in games, I guess. Well done.

T-Free responds:

Mh, I will see what can be done to make it better. I'm glad you liked it, thanks for leaving a review, Xyirx!

Very progressive.

I could actually see this being used in a lot of media. Very nice melody and wise use of instruments. Well mastered.

ARGMusic responds:

Thanks for the review! I'm hoping it will be used, as it's one of my favorite loops. :)

Arghhhh....harpsichord & organ.

Extremely fast paced and enjoyable. It's been a while since I heard good songs with harpsichord. I dig the kick which keeps the song rolling without sidechaining which keeps my head clear. By the way, did you happen to use Banjo in the song? It sounds much like it when I heard it solo before the 1:00 mark. It gives me oriental feeling right off.

TheLizardofOdd responds:

Heh, no banjo...I forget what the instrument was, but it was meant to be slightly oriental. I was picturing overdramatic anime at the time. :D
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you appreciate my lack of sidechaining, it gives me a headache too. :>

Extremely intense.

Loud and clear. No other words could describe this better. It's so intense that I want to grab some sticks and whack it on somebody's head. Very strong song indeed. What VST or program do you use? I'm finding some that could yield nice production value such as this.

junkster775 responds:

Thanks for the kind words! I use EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra: Gold Edition, and EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Choirs.

They are a great set of tools, but a little pricy.
