It was almost there!

You have very nice set of instruments there. It's so expressive and natural like real ones. I especially fall in love with your double bass and cello. Anyway, the song itself starts off slow, then catches its pace when it's almost near the end, where cello plays E-B-E-F#-B-D-C repeating over and over....I thought that it was going to end strong but I was little disappointed. However, it's a very nice calming song.

ScottProductions2002 responds:

Wow, I'm impressed you could pick up every individual note by ear :)

It's nice but a little loopy.

You've done quite well for first song. (At least much better than mine. lol) Let's see here. I think it gets very smooth and could be used in video game somehow. It seems to go on and on....and loopy to me. I suggest you could add some more instruments in and maybe percussion if you like the beat to be stronger. So far, I only hear 1 or 2 sound sources playing. It's synth and piano, imo. After that, you could put in some peaks in the song, where it's clear, memorable, and different from other parts.

XoXCindyOxO responds:

Thanks for the feed back, i really thank you for it. :)

Hmmm

I really like 1:30 part there where arppegio comes into play. It makes your song more colorful. The sidechaining (sorry if I'm mistaken) sounds pretty cool to me though but you overuse it a little that it sounds pestering to me at times. However, it's still an enjoyable song.

sfuller responds:

You are right. For a fact, the sidechain is actually unintentional, and it is actually a problem with the samples I am using. As a result I am remaking a lot of my songs like these with synthesizers instead of samples to avoid this.

Thanks for dropping in! /Sam

This is what I want to hear....

Very strong, intense, and moving. I can't really describe how much this track has made me so anxious (in a good way). So good to listen to something dynamic such as this.

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Thank you

Dynamic, flowing, and inspiring.

Tribal style is something I really like. It has mystical elements within. I love how you use unexpected melodies throughout the song. They have romanticism, mystery, and adventurous mixed within one. The track is well mastered as well.

Love your percussions and brass near the end.

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Yeah the percussion brought it all together.

Thanks for the review my friend.

Solid Story

Another rare ten to give away for the excellent storyline you've put in the song. All the instruments blend in so well that it creates such dynamic atmospheres that I could feel I'm involved fully into something magical.

DavidOrr responds:

Glad you enjoyed it :)

Has depth, but still hollow

I love when piercing sound of bagpipe (if I'm not mistaken) shows up after the beginning. It kinda tells me the story along with strings you've double octave with. Still, I feel that the piece still lacks something to make it full. Yes, with very dark bass you put and possibly cello add depth, but they are still too far to unite with sharp sounds of melodies, imho.

Overall, it's very enjoyable. Love it.

nightsurfermusic responds:

Haha thanks! :)

Ambient

It sounds very much like ambient. Although there're synthesized sounds I personally dislike in here, I don't really feel disturbed by it at all. Instead, it gives a clearer image of the story you're telling, and I inspire the way you use solo parts to emphasize things, while not leaving it empty but emotionally touched.

SuperGoodSound responds:

it's weird how that works with instruments...sometimes they sound lame on their own, but in the right mix...very cool

Powerful

The piece itself has power, with strong triads. I think it's a great song, nevertheless. :) You could lower the velocity of some notes though because some are too loud that it creates treble.

Cimba responds:

I have a very sucky program that I write all my songs on so it's very hard to "shape the music." Thank you for your input. ( If an1 knows of a really good program tell me)

You have the score, but dynamic is still missing.

I like how you progress the song. The 1:58 part is touching there, and so as other parts of your song, however, if you can adjust the note velocity and add some more delay, and also some strings in, this would be much more touching. The song still sounds like a MIDI though.

So your melody is already satisfying, the rest is just the realism in music.

Calamaistr responds:

currently exporting to mp3 i worked on the velocity im not going to adjust the track with delay, since i would play this track exactly the way it sounds currently.

Thanks for your review, check back in a bit as ill overwrite this file with the velocity adjusted one.
